How to join American Yoga Council (AYC)

Step 1: Visit Our Website

Go to www.americanyogacouncil.com and click “Join” in the upper right corner of the homepage.
To get started, you must enter your Name, Email Address and Phone Number. Make sure you use an email address that you have direct access to. Agree to the AYC Terms and Conditions to proceed to the next step. This automatically starts you at the free membership tier.

Step 2: Verification

A One Time Password (OTP) will be sent to your email address. To verify your identity, enter the 6 digit code when prompted.

Step 3: Location

Enter your location. We are powered by Google, so be sure to select the full address when it appears from the drop down menu. This will help us recommend you to students in your area

Step 4: Teacher Profile Basics

  • Headshot – upload your picture

    • SVG, PNG, JPG or GIF (MAX. 800x800px, MAX. file size 30MB). Please use a color photo. Black-and-white photos are used for deceased teachers.

  • Username – This will create your public profile as americanyogacouncil.com/teachers/your-username.

  • Intro – Summarize your teaching experience in a sentence or two. There will be additional places to expand on your expertise later.

  • (Optional) Aliases – if you go by a name other than the one provided at Step 1, enter it here. This could be a spiritual name or former name. There is the option to select this as your preferred name on your AYC profile.

  • Websites and Social Media Links – Use the "Add Another" button to add multiple websites one by one.

Step 5: Choose Your Membership Type

AYC offers three membership levels, designed to meet you where you are in your yoga journey:

  • Free Membership – Great for students and practitioners who want to explore our network, discover teachers and find upcoming workshops/events in their area.

  • Premium Membership – Designed for yoga teachers looking to build visibility, verify their teaching credentials, promote upcoming workshops, and start earning revenue through the mentorship program.

  • Professional Membership – For studio owners and yoga schools who are ready to accredit their certification programs through AYC, start earning even more revenue and and access members-only support and benefits.
