Understanding Training Badges vs. Teacher Level Badges
Badges on your profile serve different purposes, and it’s important to understand what each one represents.
Training-Specific Badges
Training badges are tied to a specific program or training you’ve completed.
These badges verify that you successfully completed a particular training.
They are issued based on that program’s level, scope, and requirements.
A training badge does not automatically change your overall teacher level.
Example:
You may earn a Level 2 Training Badge after completing a Level 2–designated training program.
Teacher Level Badges
Teacher level badges reflect your overall experience and standing as a teacher, not just one training. You'll see this badge under your profile picture.
These badges take into account factors such as:
Total years of teaching experience
Teaching history and scope of work
Professional development beyond a single training
Because teacher levels consider more than just classroom hours, they may not always match the level of your most recent training.
Example:
You could hold a Level 2 Badge while still being recognized as a Level 3 Teacher based on your years of experience and teaching background.
Why They Might Not Match
It’s completely normal for training badges and teacher level badges to differ. Each serves a distinct purpose:
Training badges show what you’ve completed
Teacher level badges show who you are as a teacher overall
Together, they provide a fuller picture of your education, experience, and expertise.
