How to Complete Your Teacher Profile & Finish Onboarding

Welcome to AYC!

Your teacher profile is more than a listing on a map. It’s how students, studios, and peers discover you and get a clear idea of your teaching vibe, experience and expertise.

Step 1: Create Your Teacher Profile

When you initially signed up, you already filled out the following:

  1. Name

  2. Location

  3. Profile Picture

Here are your next steps:

Add a 1–2 Sentence Intro

This short introduction appears at the top of your profile and is included in search results when people explore the Map feature.

Keep it clear, specific, and aligned with your teaching style.

Example: Trauma-informed Vinyasa teacher helping students build strength and self-trust.

Add Your Influences

Influences function like keywords. They can be books, teachers, ideas, styles of yoga, schools of thought, etc.

  • Help others understand your teaching lens

  • Improve discoverability in search

  • Reflect your lineage, style, and inspiration

Examples:

  • Iyengar

  • Somatics

  • Functional movement

  • Bhakti

  • Chair Yoga

  • The Bhagavad Gita

Choose thoughtfully — they shape how people find you. You will enter these one by one, similar to hashtags.

Add Your Full Bio

This is where people get to know your vibe and expertise.

Include:

  • Your teaching philosophy

  • Areas of specialization

  • Who you love working with

  • Your experience and background

Be authentic and professional. This builds trust.

Step 2: Expand Your Presence

These sections help students and studios engage with you more fully.

Create a Workshop

You can create a workshop listing to show up on the map at no cost.

Workshops may be featured on the homepage and shared in platform promotions.

This is a great way to:

  • Highlight your specialty

  • Promote an upcoming event

  • Showcase your teaching depth

Add Links

Include:

  • Website

  • YouTube

  • Other relevant platforms

  • Booking links

Make it easy for people to connect with you.

Connect Instagram

Sync your Instagram account to strengthen your profile and increase visibility.

“Find Me At”

Connect to the studios or locations where you currently teach.

This allows students to discover you through studio searches and map features. This makes you more findable in the directory.

note: This feature is meant to connect your profile to studios/schools who are already enrolled with AYC.

Add Your Schedule

Add a link to your class schedule or booking page so students can practice with you directly.

Add or Invite Mentor(s)

You can invite mentors to be connected to your profile.

This strengthens your professional credibility and helps build meaningful relationships within the community.

Step 3: Get Verified

If you would like an official AYC Level and verified status complete the following:

Submit Teaching History

Include:

  • Years teaching experience

  • Approximate number of classes/workshops/privates taught

  • Notable experience, including participation in Teacher Trainings

  • Supporting documentation: CV, website links, written submission

Submit Credentials

Upload:

  • Teacher training certificates

  • Continuing education documentation

  • Other relevant credentials

You may submit teaching history, credentials, or both to be considered for level placement. Each Credential will be assigned an AYC badge. If you decide to only submit your teaching history, your level appear under your profile picture and no other badges will be visible on your profile page.

AYC Status Confirmation

Once submitted, our team will review your documentation.

You may be asked to provide additional:

  • Proof of certification

  • Photos of certificates

  • Supporting documentation

Once verified, your AYC Status will be confirmed and your level badge assigned.

Important Note on AYC Levels

AYC levels are not automatically assigned.

To receive an official level badge, you must submit:

  • Teaching history and/or

  • Credentials

Incomplete submissions may delay level confirmation.
